Clare Carey

Clare is an information designer with a particular interest in strategic, usable and ethical design.

Clare graduated with a distinction in Typography (Design) from Stafford College in 1996, and subsequently took a Postgraduate Certificate course in Typography at the University of Reading.

Clare joined Lift in April 2004 from Boag Associates, an information design studio in London. Clare held the position of creative lead and worked on print and web projects for various clients such as Camelot, DEFRA, Invesco Perpetual, Oxford University Press, Powergen, Qualification and Curriculum Authority, and Royal Mail.

Previously Clare worked at Text Matters, an information design studio in Reading, where she was involved in a wide range of different communication problems. Clare also held the position of Corporate Identity Co-ordinator for Lloyds Register of Shipping, working on corporate design standards amongst other materials.

Clare is a member of ATypI and has attended the annual conference in Reading, Boston, Leipzig, Copenhagen and Rome. During the conferences she helps to write, design and produce the conference newspaper and website (see Clare showcased on the ATypI website).

Clare is a member of GAWDS (Guild of Accessible Web Designers).

Clare is also a committee member of the Information Design Association.
