Clients ask us to be involved in their annual reports and brochures at different levels. We have been responsible for visual design, art direction of photographers and illustrators, and collaborated with writers on content. Alternatively, we have focused on design using materials supplied. We are happy to be involved at any level.
Working with the University branding team we have helped to roll out the new design of the magazine in the latest issues. Taking elements from the University's visual identity, the new style of the magazine still manages to retain some individuality through the inventive use of text and images.
We were asked by the University communications department to produce a leaflet to send out to students living in Reading with information about their community. The booklet needed to contain a whole range of information from being considerate to neighbours, to personal safety and how to dispose of rubbish! We used a style of illustrations and patterns not commonly associated with the University, to appeal to the students and encourage them to read the booklet and take in the information it contains.
We have been asked to produce stationary and promotional materials for Jill Stew Dance School. Using the beautiful photography from the school, we have created a high quality set of leaflets and posters to help them advertise. We are planning on creating a website in the near future.
As a rostered design agency for the University, we undertake a variety of work for different departments and schools. Following guidance from the branding team, we develop new identites, produce brochures, leaflets, posters and magazines; always ensuring a consistency throughout.
We have designed a series of posters for the new bus stops around campus. The posters would be advertising many different things, from events held on campus to aspects of university life. Using bright block colours, and strong simple illustrations, we created vibrant and fun posters which would be eyecatching from a passing bus.
Berkshire Scouts asked us to develop their brand and produce a whole range of materials from logos and stationary to annual reports and exhibition display panels. We have introduced a set of bold colours to the brand, with a range of logos for uses in different situations to keep their documents looking fresh and up to date. Unusual folding of the annual reports turns a potentially unappealing document into an intriguing object, which doubles as a poster.
The University of Reading reviewed and decided it was time to update their Alumni Magazine, which is distributed to some 80,000 Alumni biannually. The Editorial Boards aim was to attract a wider audience, while consolidating its appeal to the current readership (which has an age range between 20 and 106). The magazine must be at once interesting, informative, fun and attractive.
A book and accompanying website for The Immigrants Project. More information and a project report will be available soon.
We were approached to design and produce a series of approximately 30 large format (A0) display panels for the School of Biosciences at the University of Reading. The aim of the panels was to provide information to visitors (and staff) about the breadth of work and research done within the school, as well as helping to brighten up areas of the building. We were asked to work within the new University brand, developing a style for display panels.
OCBS had initially been formed by volunteers and well wishers, which had resulted in no consistency and branding of their materials leaving an impression of lack of professionalism. To enable them to achieve their potential they needed to undergo a major fundraising initiative (of over £12,000,000) Lift were approached to produce a logo, brand, stationery, and brochure to enable OCBS to be seen as a major part of the Buddhist tradition today.
Lift designed a series of fundraising materials for St Mary's Church in Reading, to help them raise almost a million pounds to renovate their building. The project involved an appeal logo, a folder and a series of information sheets about the Church and the reasons behind the appeal.
