Berkshire Mathematics teaching packs
The brief
Berkshire Mathematics approached Lift to redesign its teaching packs.
The approach
The packs use a series of tests which pupils can complete, which can also be photocopied by teachers for distribution amongst a class. In order to keep cost to a minimum all diagrams and illustrations needed to be a single colour and reproduce well when photocopied.
The original tests used out-of-date clip art, which made the understanding by pupils harder than intended.
The outcome
We produced a page grid for all the tests to ensure consistency in layout and positioning. We also specified the typographic styling of all text for questions and notes, and spaces for answers to make completing each test as easy as possible.
There was no consistency in the style of illustrations, so we produced new artwork for the majority of the tests. The illustrations were kept simple so as not to confuse the children when completing them.
